How do you come up with online business ideas anyway? Does is come naturally or is it just magic?
Actually generating online business ideas is quite simple if you understand what it is that you
are setting out to accomplish. If you follow these five easy steps then you will most certainly be
guaranteed success.
1. Brainstorm about what it is that you enjoy doing the most. If you are going to need to work
hard at starting your own online business then you had better enjoy what you are doing. Find
something that you really know well and can have fun with doing it. Something that you are
passionate about. This is the first step and not the second or third or so on. Do not skip over
this step thinking you can come back to it later. Do it now and take as much time as you need.
This is going to set you up to succeed and is the most critical step you need to take.
2. After you resolve what you enjoy doing then you need to figure out how you are going to market
your business. Will this business be a service or a product? Will it be your own or someone
else’s? You need to find some tools that will allow you to market your business online. A few
search engine entries later and you will find what tools you need to use. Remember that this is
your online business idea so you will be able to figure this out easily. Follow your instincts and
try not to be influenced by every opportunity that comes along.
3. What will you name your online business idea? Again do some brainstorming about what you want
your business to be known for doing the best. Find others in your field and observe what they are
doing and add your own personality to it. Steal something that is already working and model your
business after them with your own pizzazz thrown into the mix. Next find out what domain names are
available using your online business idea and make that name match your business name. This is
also known as branding your business idea.
4. Okay now you are ready to create a website using your brand name. What in the world? You don't
have a website already boxed up and ready to go? Most online business entrepreneurs today use a
blog to base their business model on. A blog can be very simple and straight forward containing
your logos and a newsletter along with a lead capture form very easily. Some people outsource this
step for a minimal fee. Whatever you decide you need a nerve center for your online business and a
blog works fabulously.
5. To review: you have a business model, niche market, brand name and a blog. Great! Now all you
need is some good old fashioned traffic. Owning an online business is not the old build it and
they will come mentality. You need to get prospects to see your business first, build a
relationship and then market them your service or product. Generating online traffic is what
network marketing is all about and it is a topic that will be discussed in greater detail at my
